home ec

i've domesticated myself this past week.... and its kind of nice but shhhhh don't tell anyone, especially not annabelle... please! so along with baking, cleaning, potting plants, scrapbooking and hosting baby showers, i have been taking sewing lessons from my great aunt that is visiting. she is amazing, not only is she an amazing seamstress that is teaching me how to pattern BUT she at one point in her life she was a card dealer at a casino.... GANGSTER!

And now please witness the product of my domestication, pajama shorts:

time to self

even though its been a rather uneventful (i needed a break!) weekend. i did manage to wander to "the bite", grab some nibs and go on some rides. oh seattle center with your little measly rides, i guess thats ok since i am a big chicken anyways. my friend and i discussed how really if you were to wait for the longest line with the best food, it really isn't worth it. and for some reason we forget this every time and go....

one of the funnier moments was sitting in the grass at the "emerald queen casino" stage watching a cover band called "disco balls". not only did they have sequin shirts, one had a handlebar s'tache and the other had a peace sign emblem necklace.... i could only day dream about what they actually did for their day jobs....

i just baked oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, so if you would like some please feel free to stop by. thanks and good evening! (or morning or afternoon or night!)

one canoe, two canoe ,three canoe, floor!

have you ever canoed/kayaked the arboretum?
...yes?! isn't it delightful?!?!
...no? you haven't?!..... well you need to.... its magical, as long as you are in the mood for magic. :)

for a more mild manner trip go for a canoe at the wac OR for a more adventurous trip get a kayak from aqua verde and do do do ALWAYS go get (fish) tacos from aqua verde.

blue heron. turtles and duckies! i saw the beaver damn but no beavers, damn it.

thanks to j for getting my butt into gear.

p.s. i am taking hiking recommendations.... so let me know of any you heart.

shoulds

do you ever find yourself wasting away on the internet during the early hours of a worknight?

well i have a confession.
i am a bed inter-webber.
its often how i get to sleep....
i type/click/read until my eyes get droopy.
sometimes i will crawl into bed at 11 and the next thing i know its 1 or 2 or sometimes 3........

but when else would you find things like this or watch things like this?

is this bad?
i just don't know.

hope everyone enjoyed the three day weekend and 4th festivities.
i have signed off anything that is fermented/distilled.... until next weekend.
ha.
